This work is inspired by photos I have taken while traveling - whether traveling through the city park in my own town or on a coastal shore in Maine, or in my own backyard - rocks, tree roots, rust, etc.
The paintings are done by a method of deconstructing and reconstructing. The end result does not look like my original photograph. They are printed out, torn up and then transferred on to my board in fragments. Then they are painted into and presented in a new way. All work is done on cradled wood panels.
